In Philadelphia, Graffiti writers chased the mythical forever tag. A tag, our mark that we had been here, preserved forever. Almost four decades after retiring from being a Graffiti Artist I still have a handful of forever tags, most in the catacombs of the subway tunnels. But even these will be painted over, fade, or destroyed. In the end we were youth looking to be recognized, to be seen, to imprint ourselves on eternity.
